Vitamins Anyone?

Ok...have any of you taken vitamins to encourage hair growth? As many of you know, I've been taking Vitamin E but a friend of mine told me about Vitamin B12 and that her hair grew half an inch within of short time frame. Do any you take vitamins and what has been your experience?
