Damn Supermodel! Another Hair Vitamin?

Yes another hair vitamin....

MSM....

Or Methylsulfonylmethane.  It is a natural form of organic sulfonyl sulfur compound that is found in the fluid of all living organisms. It is present in a variety of foods, including most fresh fruits and green vegetables, milk, meat. etc.

The sulfur normally provided to the body by MSM is required for healthy collagen and keratin which are essential for healthy hair, skin, and nails.

MSM is also known to lengthen the anagen phase. This is the "growing" phase of our hair. This phase determines what your terminal length may be. (the length where your hair stops growing, sheds, and a new one grows in its place)

For example, if your anagen phase is about 3-4 years, you could probably grow your hair to midback or tailbone before your hair begins to shed and a new one grows in its place.

Obviously our hair sheds at different times because if it didn't, you'd grow your hair out to MBL i.e., go bald once your hair sheds and then it will all grow back at the same time. We'd look pretty funny if that happened.

So if your anagen phase is 4 years, MSM can lengthen that time for you to grow lengths that may not have been possible before.

Reported Pros: softer new growth, faster growing hair, faster growing nails, tighter skin, clearer skin, alleviation of respiratory illnesses like asthma, allergies, less joint pain.

Reported Cons: acne, headaches, bigger breasts, very vivid dreams, gas, can bring on flu like symptoms (due to your body detoxing) missing periods, frequent periods.

Yes this little vitamin can work wonders or do damage. You need to work out the pros and cons for yourself to determine the risks. Everyone experiences something different.

So I was curious and started out on a low dosage. 1000mg. Although many didn't notice a difference until they upped the dosage to 3000mg or more.

I will keep you guys posted....
