What’s Wrong With Your Wig?

Too many women wear lacefront wigs the wrong way.

It’s a bit pitiful. Many women have left buying wefts and having them sewn into their heads and began wearing lacefront wigs. For some reason, they think it’s simpler to slip something on than to wait for hours while your cousin sews in your tracks.

No, not really. Not necessarily. Sometimes, wearing a lacefront is even more work than sewing in tracks.

1. TOO BULKY!

It’s too bulky on top. It doesn’t look natural at all. Horrendous. Plus it ages Ciara instead of making her look young. Choose the right wig ladies. Too much hair framing the face with no layers cut into the wig will make any woman look twenty to thirty years older than she is. That’s saying a lot!

2. GET THE DENSITY RIGHT!

The density of the wig matters greatly! Some women like wigs with 200% and up density when they don’t realize that that look is okay for a glam photo shoot. Not every day!

It’s a beautiful wig but do you need all of this hair just to go to work every morning? God help you if you prepare food for a living. I wouldn’t want to see ombre hairs in my food. That’s the truth.

Pick a wig with the right density by first asking yourself if this is a wig for every day use or a wig for something special. If it’s something special then glam it up. If not, tone it down a bit. An every day use wig should be more realistic and practical. Some may disagree with this statement and it’s up to you to decide what you want to do with your money. However, I remember a day when weaves and wigs were used to create an illusion. Today, they are mostly used as accessories. That’s also fine, but lets not forget that wigs are also used for people with serious and chronic illnesses. 

3.  INSTALL THE WIG PROPERLY

Look closely at Rihanna. You can see the glue caked up on the sides and front. Not a good look. We shouldn’t be able to look at your hair line and say, “Oh you used Got2BeGlued” on the front to apply that, eh? No. Using too much will create this look. Please please please stop this madness.

With Nicki Minaj, the hairline sits too far on her forehead.Not a good look. Besides, when photographers flash their cameras, all the mistakes that you think no one will see will be amplified!  With HD cameras on the scene these days, it was a good thing for photography, not so much for makeup artists and lace front wig wearers. The flash picks up all that caked on glue seeping through the wig. Not a good look. 

Lacefront wigs are a wonderful look for those who know how to create the flawless look upon installing. For those who don’t, please go back to your needle and thread. There is nothing wrong with a properly installed sew in weave but there is a problem with a messed up lacefront installed like  garbage.
